ArtCAM Pro 2011: Manufacturing

A number of advances have been made to the machining within ArtCAM Pro, in particular to the engraving strategies. Below are just some of these enhancements:

Many of the PowerMILL strategies that have been incorporated into ArtCAM have undergone performance improvements resulting in faster toolpath calculation times when machining a relief.

Improved Raised Round Engraving

To prevent chipping or extreme loads on the cutting tool, you can choose whether you would like the raised round strategy to begin at the centre of your design or at its edges, as well as your preferred machine tool cutting direction.
smart engraving creates a finer finish

Create a Finer Finish On Shapes With Uneven Surfaces

Materials with uneven surfaces can often be problematic, as this may mean that the cutting tool is not taken out of the material completely or that the crisp edges required for the shapes are not obtained. Within ArtCAM 2011’s Smart Engraving feature you can define the distance that the corner sharpening moves come above the material.
